Tiny
Bears

These are my teeny bears, collected mainly
over the past few years.
As the collection grew, I started to run
out of space. So I started looking at smaller bears.

This is
the smallest of my cuddly bears. He's made of (I think) pipe cleaners and
was bought in a specialist teddy shop in Brighton. He's holding a standard
matchstick, to give an indication of his size. That's a little Meccano car
next to him, which he got one Christmas.

These
two are Button Bears, acquired at Bears'n'Bunnies, in BlueWater shopping
Centre, Kent. On the left is Kevin, in a very cute, hand-knitted
sweater. On the right, Horatio with his little sailor collar.

These
three came from a shop in Oxford, called (I think) Next to Nothing.
They're hand made by a company called Country Folk, based in the
Cotswolds. From left to right, Rusty (the first one I got, a present
from Ant), Dandelion (a Christmas gift as a friend for Rusty) and
Rosebud (who I got for a friend, but couldn't bear to part with).

A few
other tiny bears. Back left is Pip. He's around 20 years old and I made
him from a square of felt left over from something else. He's stuffed
with cotton wool. Back right is Blue. He's got a pin attached to wear as
a brooch. I got him somewhere in the US, forget where. The front three
are basically the same as Blue, but without pins. I got them at a Bear
Fair in Brighton a few years ago, to go on my Christmas tree.

These
three were hand-knitted by my sister Heather, together with their picnic
tablecloth, a plate of lettuce and tomato sandwiches, Swiss roll,
chocolate cake and lemonade. The two bigger ones are jointed - I have no
idea how she did it!
